So you’re on board with buying local but where can you do that in the Houston area?
I’m about to blow your mind with this list! I started searching out places in the area and putting a list together for myself with an emphasis on The Woodlands/Spring/Conroe side of Houston (because that’s where I am!). I realized while asking around and exploring that many others were looking for places to buy local as well, so why not share my work?
Many of these recommendations were given to me by Justin Duncan of TOFGA (Texas Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) after taking his organic gardening class at a recent Healthy Living/Vegan/Vegetarians of The Woodlands meet-up. Side note: If you’re looking for a group to join or network with, please join us! You do NOT have to be vegan or vegetarian. In fact, most members aren’t. You just have to be interested in learning about living a healthier lifestyle.
Now onto this list. I’ve compiled a combination of markets, CSAs, pick-your-own farms, orchards and agritourism destinations. Which one will you cross off the list first?
