I know you’ve indulged over the last few weeks. I know you’ve skipped a couple workouts and maybe drank a little too much wine. No need to confess– it’s OK to slack a little to spend time with the people you love and enjoy the holidays. Now I need you to NOT freak out when you get back on the scale or try on your favorite (now too snug) work pants. Don’t go spend all your money on a 5-day juice cleanse or a 21-day fix or whatever the crazies are selling this year. Don’t swear off all sugar and declare gluten the devil.

Resetting for 2016 is much, much easier than that. It starts with making a plan. No (real) food in the house? Time to stock up! And don’t just go wild buying everything you see that’s green or organic in the grocery store. You’ll just end up wasting money and food. Start by picking out a few wholesome recipes, figure out what you need to pack your lunch, then add in your favorite quick breakfast go-tos to the list. Do your shopping then come home and do whatever prep you can to make it easier on yourself throughout the week.

If you’ve ever worked with me, you know you need to make sure you’ve got a complex carb, a lean protein, and a healthy fat every single time you eat. Those all-fruit or all-veggie smoothies just don’t cut it. You’ll be hungry in an hour because you’re body isn’t getting what it needs.

Start your reset with this Peanut Butter Banana CPF Smoothie. You still get a load of vitamins and minerals, but also a complete CPF.

Complex Carb = banana

Lean Protein= protein powder, peanut butter, soy milk

Healthy fat= peanut butter, soy milk

This smoothie will satisfy your sweet tooth AND all your nutritional needs.
