Do you take insurance?
We don’t. We are a small company. We don’t want to spend our time battling with insurance companies for payment and charting for hours. We want to spend our time working with you.
If you do have nutrition benefits that your insurance will cover (rare unless you have a specific diagnosis like kidney failure or diabetes), your best bet is to contact a large hospital system with an outpatient dietitian department, like Orlando Health or Advent Health if you’re local to Orlando.
We don’t know of any private practice dietitians that can take insurance.
Do I have to pay for the consultation or package up front?
No, you do not have to pay for anything before you come in. We do offer the option of purchasing a session or package of sessions up front for those that want it, but we don’t expect you to have to pay before you’ve ever met us!
Just go to our scheduling page, pick a day/time that works for you, book your appointment and hit “pay later.” We will handle the payment at the end of your consultation.
Are you going to sell me supplements or shakes?
No. Period. We don’t sell any pills, shakes, shots, or potions. Don’t be worried that we’re going to hit you with a sales pitch for Advocare or Herbalife. Now if you want help picking the best vitamin or supplement for a certain reason, we can certainly give you recommendations.
Do you work with kids?
Yes, we have two dietitians who work with clients 18 and under. Choose “pediatric initial consultation” as your appointment type.
Can we do our appointments over the phone or virtually?
Yes! We would always prefer to see your awesome face in person, but phone and Google Meet work for us too (especially if you’re not in the Orlando area).
Will you weigh or measure me?
No, we will never make you step on a scale or measure you. Awwwkward. If you want to use weight as a measurement of progress, we want you to weigh yourself on your home scale, in the morning, before you’ve had anything to eat or drink.
We use a lot of factors other than weight to measure your success. Energy levels, stress levels, lab values, hunger and cravings, confidence, and more.
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself! Make sure you fill out our short registration and consent form (also linked in your appointment confirmation email). If you have any lab work you want us to see or vitamins/supplements you have questions about, bring those too.
Do you do blood work or lab testing?
No, as registered dietitians, we cannot order lab work for you, but we can show you how to order your own labs or suggest which labs to ask your physician for.
Where should I park?
We have several businesses in our building and our parking lot can fill up quickly. We have 2 marked spaces (with signs that say Nutrition Awareness Parking Only). Do not park in any other spots. Please park on Haven Drive or Brookhaven Drive if you’re not a fan of parking in tight spaces. Check out our contact page for more info on our location and parking.
